Summer can bring all sorts of surprises. In a way it's a season that's almost magical. Warm weather comes forth, summer flings happen, and a general change comes about. I have yet to fully grasp what the summer of 2009 has in store for me. One thing that is for certain is that college begins just next week for me. I almost sense a rush of adrenaline just thinking about it. Do you wonder what lies ahead this summer for YOU?

Lastly I saw the new Transformers movie- I must say I never knew robots had such bad language. That was probably the real issue I had with this movie. However I can honestly admit this film didn't leave me bored for a second

These looks are from SMASHBOX, and yes that is my current lover. I ♥ SMASHBOX with a passion! My fave product from Smashbox is the Jet Set waterproof eye liner in Midnight Purple. (It makes my brown eyes go BAM! So I guess that makes me a little biased....)
Anyways, some mascara, with a plum lip, and bronzer/light blush, is just the right look for the incoming season!

Bleached jeans are definitely big now. I've seen in it the Balmain collection, Urban Outfitters, etc. I'm beginning to fall for them myself...

Black & White

Just yesterday was my last chance to attend my school's "Black and White" dance. And you know what? I didn't go. I do not say this readers so that you will be sorry for me. As a matter of fact, it was by choice that I did not go. True, I am a senior, but I had gone to the dance last year. It was definitely one of the most memorable dances I had gone to, and I would not have exchanged that memory for anything, and I wanted to keep it that way. So that when I refer back to that dance I will always have a warm nostalgia when I think of it.

Now you must be thinking what did I do instead of the dance? Well, I ventured to the mall with a friend-on a very very rainy day! She and I took picture after picture (with her digital camera) of ourselves modeling in stores like Anthropologie and Macy's Furniture Store. Then, we decided to go about the mall speaking in English accents. And if anyone would want to ask why we were speaking like Brits I would just say "why not?"

Kate & Leopold, The Prestige, and Australia are probably just a few of his greatest films. Hugh was a chivalrous gentleman in Kate and Leopold and it just made him all more the heartthrob. In The Prestige he was a magician crazed with getting revenge but with some crazy masculine appeal. And in what has become one of my favorite movies of all time, Australia, Hugh was "Drover" unable to be tamed, practically reckless, but oh-so dreamy.

I am currently IN LOVE with the Diane Von Furstenberg campaign aka "DVF". The campaign is shot by Francois-Marie Banier. And the model is none other than Natalia Vodianova. Who seems to have a face that never ages even though she is well into her twenties and is mother!

So I saw AUSTRALIA twice in theatres! Once with a friend and the second time with the bf. And they both liked it! I thought it was amazing, I was blown away by the scenery, costumes, story, etc. It has the perfect blend of romance and adventure. And on a side note I hear this movie is OSCAR-WORTHY!

It's photoshoots I love, its articles are brilliant, and it defines what is high-fashion.The one and only Christian Siriano, he's in his early twenties and acts as an unstoppable force, he has immense talent and qualities that embody a great fashion designer!

Here, one attendee dons on the layered necklace look which coordinates and even boosts up this ensemble. This is what I mean when I say adding an accessory to something basic. When done correctly you can go from basic to simple done classic.

So, I was curious about this girl's style. Why? Well just for the record I like to look for new topics or people to discuss in my posts. Not that I don't love Rachel Bilson's style, or the Olsens, and all of the other note-worthy celebs. But let's make way for someone who isn't in the tabloids and magazines over and over again.
So in my search of Kristin Stewart, I wasn't impressed so much of her style but more of how much of a model she is. She gives this intensity in her eyes, like a model and is quite photogenic!

THE SUMMER LIST

1. ENJOY YOURSELF

Have a day with just you and your closest friends

2. Journal your Summer

Write it out, the good the bad

Writing can be therapy for any bad times you have

but hopefully there will be good.

And if you write down all those good memories, everything you jotted down will be something you will want to look at someday to remember this summer.

3. Take a walk outside

Do something with nature!

4. Take on a hobby

(For me it will be swimming for the majority of the week and hopefully getting into Boxing class)

So there has been much speculation over the death of the young model, Ruslana Korshunova. It has been made official that the incident that occurred was a "suicide", but I am not thoroughly convinced. Only because other possibilities have opened like the Russian maffia for example. So could she have encountered herself in a difficult situation and this was the outcome? There has been some research done to say the least, like looking into the model's blog, and things she had posted. Saying how she was "lost" but I do not think that that is reason enough to believe she would want to kill herself. If the things she had posted on her blog were of any concern why would they be looked at or analyzed after the model's death? Those close to her could not fathom reason why she would commit this act, and did not grasp a hint. Either way I think there is more to this case than meets the eye. This incident has come to the attention of THE TELEGRAPH (U.K. news), The New York Post, The L.A. Times, and more publications to be sure. Anyway this is something that I had been thinking over recently-but I hope that her family will be okay through all this, as I understand it is a very emotional and difficult time for them. Yet I cannot help thinking whether this is a solved case or open to investigation?

Summer is finally here, now I can embrace it.
(Especially since school's out and finals are over)

This photo shoot is reminiscent of Adam Brody's photoshoot in Ellegirl magazine back in 2006. Which is why I adore the shots taken in the air. But what attracted me most were the picks in menswear. I am not one for paying attention to menswear, but I may have seen the LIGHT. Haha.

If there is anything I have learned lately it would be to embrace NATURE. Nature for one thing can be found outside, and it is beyond our control. Especially when it comes to the weather, here in CA it will be blazing hot and a beautiful day, then cold and overcast the next. As tiresome as this has become, I'm learning to go with the flow. Enjoy the day no matter what. Nature is also found in people it's called human nature. I have found that there are people who are prone to change for the better while others manage to remain the same. This can either serve for good or bad. Either way if you spend most of your time trying to change someone for the better and find that you're not successful, that person is best left alone. Then there is the nature of the media, which will try to change us. The media will always try to force certain thoughts on us, even though they may not always be right. It has always tried to give an image of what we should be rather than embrace who we already are. The media will ALWAYS be like this. So what are we left do? Simply embrace the situation. By this I do not mean follow something when it is wrong, but stay true to yourself when you know you are right. If everyone was able to do this maybe just maybe we could change all this. So learn to "SHINE" and stay true!

Recently the weather in California has been warming up and I hope it stays that way. Why? Because I long for summer, and if you think about it, it's just around the corner.

The above items are the FIRST SIGNS of my summer wardrobe. (These are my recent purchases). Even my mind is thinking in summer style mode. Like that fedora (the first item), I can think of that hat going with a striped collared button down shirt, earthy jewelery, shorts, and brown chunky wedge heels. Anyway, that's just my inner stylist talking. I want to comment about the shades, which I happen to adore. I wore them today, and a friend of mine commented how they hide my face. In my opinion big shades are trendy and I feel like I'm bringing out my inner celebrity. (Celebs are usually photographed by paparazzi in their huge shades, are they not?) As for the sandals, they are metallic, which gives a somewhat "futurustic" flair as I have heard them described. I think a metallic accessory or flat can really allow you to shine in your ensemble.
I dream of the beach. I wish to breathe in the ocean air. The song "boys of summer" by the Ataris comes to mind. Those first few lines "Nobody on the road/Nobody on the beach/I feel it in the air/The summer's out of reach". It may not be here yet, but it will be-all these feelings point to one thing a major case of SUMMERITIS.

Okay so in the last couple of posts or so, i had discussed how we should embrace the new, yes? Well I want to go back look into the past, namely the 1950's, fashion that is influenced by past styles, a past starlet, and so on. All of these elements have to do with the past, I hope you enjoy the post! The wing-tipped glasses here, scream '50s to me! And though this may be off-topic, I completely love the pose!
This picture is of the Bernardo Sandal, created in 1946 by none another than Bernard and Bertha Rudofsky. This picture was taken during the 1950s, by Bernard Rudofsky himself. Notice the Eiffel tower in the backround. Shoes. Paris at your feet. What more could you ask for?!
There is some definite class in this piece. It has the sense of 1950s sophistication.
If you do not recognize this glamorous siren, she was the star of Gidget, you know that 1959 surf movie? This is Sandra Dee. She is one of the starlets where back in the day Hollywood truly embodied class and style that dazzled!

Speaking of style that dazzles...here is Scarlett Johansson. I think she takes tips from the past, and is modern day siren. Scarlett is usually seen sporting a red lip, hair that is curled to perfection, and carries a drop-dead gorgeous presence about her.

Alright so I'm rather critical of fashion collections. I can decide whether I like it or not in at least 10 seconds. Then if a collection really catches my eye I will take a couple of minutes before finalizing which collections make it into my posts. Anyway, here are some notes I've made on the Fall '08 collections...

Embracing the "new" is very important. These looks belong to the finalists on Project Runway Season 4, and I think that each one of these designers has a new view on fashion. The first look is by Jillian, and I really love how it is styled. The combination of the garments and accessories is just brilliant. The second look is by Rami, the headband is very pretty and creative. Although, it reminds of the headbands created in a past Marc Jacobs show. The last picture shows a dress by Christian; and the mix of the two colors and the choice of material are very successful in creating a powerful look. Now here are some looks from the past........

These are some dramatic pieces from the Met in NY. Each piece is expressive in its own way, but my favorite would have to be the third picture down...it is designed by none other than John Galliano.

This is a painting that I really really love. I adore the colors and what this women is wearing. The painting is done by John Singer Sargent who just happens to be A-mazing.

Heart Throb

You may agree or you may not, but to me Christian Bale is a heart throb! He has this husky voice and is a great actor, I watch him and I am amazed. If you are not a believer you may want to see him in the 1994 version of Little Women.

FASHION

These are three looks I can't help but be head over heels for! The first I completely adore because it pulls in art into the clothing. The designer that can succeed at combining art and fashion is simply genius! The second look comes together beautifully, the top looks like it would move flowingly when the model walks, and really when it comes down to it a designer has to be able to present a special effect when a person is presented in their clothes, yes? Alright then we have this third look, which with the hat alone makes the model look mysterious. This look automatically pulls you in because of that "mystery" factor.

For some reason, this piece by Jenni Kayne from her latest line reminds me of the female characters you find in The Three Musketeers, which coincidentally happens to be a novel that largely involves romance. This reminds of the female characters because in that novel they are beautiful, powerful, and quite "mysterious". I also like this picture because it seems reminiscient of Breakfast at Tiffany's, don't you think?

The A Walk to Remember soundtrack has wonderful songs, I mean who can forget when Mandy Moore sings A"Only Hope" to Shane West and how can you not love "Someday we'll know"?! Then there's Across the Universe based on songs by none other than the amazing BEATLES! Songs like "Something", "Across the Universe", and "If I fell" are among my favorite because they have so much emotion. In the picture above you see Jude looking out somewhere in deep thought...I wonder who he's thinking about. Lastly there's Once, a soundtrack so moving, and artists/singers so talented, you are bound to fall in love with the music!

1. What’s the story behind the name of your blog and your nickname?
Well this blog was once called THOUGHTS OF A FASHIONISTA. But I wanted something original and well just different. So it donned on me...The Weekly Blogette! Short story I know but its pretty much as simple as that.
2. Why did you started blogging in the first place?
I was inspired by iamfashion.blogspot.com. I had come across I AM FASHION a couple years ago and was just amazed by what you could do with a blog. So I decided to create a blog I could call my own in hopes of it being a great one. I just loved the thought of saying whatever and voicing my thoughts. I find myself even now, inspired by other blogs.
3.What has been your best blogging experience? What about the worst?
I have a post called CLASH, where I named a trend of my own. I called it clash of the cultures since to me it was a trend and it had no name. It was just so much fun putting it all together. It was my way of finding all these collections and pulling them together by this one trend. It was like my epiphany or something.
Hmmm...my worst. I don't think I have one.
4.What do you think will happen to your blog in 2008?

The trip you never took

So why are there pics of all these places? Keep reading...

You know those expressions like "the son I never had" or I guess "you're like the friend I never had"? Well this one derives from those, and is one I made up entirely on my own. Its "the trip I never took". So, besides Mexico, and a couple other states other than California, I haven't travelled too far from home. But who says I can't plan these things? Anyway, these are some tips, places, and things I've come up with. Hopefully they will help you brainstorm on your plans to the trip you never took but might someday.

TIPS:

-a structured bag for a night out
-camera, namely digital, having to buy film constantly was so 2007. (I say this because I got a digital camera for Christmas and it much less hassle then my OTHER camera).
-when life gives you downtime make some awesome sketches!
-make sure you rest the day you get to your destination. That way you can hit the sites the next day!
-let yourself be inspired!

Technology is a beautiful thing, this mug talks it goes something like "mmmmm ahhhhhh....liquid heaven". Who wouldnt want to bring this along?

I have a feeling that if that the places I want to go to are well...cold. And I think I would like to go to someplace foreign in the wintertime. So it would be important to keep the gloves and scarf handy.

I'd just figure that depending on the person, if you had downtime on your trip, you'd probably a)sleep or b)fill up the time. So, for the more literary type I'd suggest a journal, and fro the more artistic type like myself, I'd suggest a huge sketchbook. Plus some expert drawing pencils. I found this on amazon.com, and judging by the description of it, this looks like a good quick read. It's supposed to be memoirs of Marc Jacobs and whatnot...and well lets face it MJ is a total genius! I'd be thrilled to read this, plus I am way excited to see his documentary that's coming in February on the sundance channel.

Alright, let's face it, not everyday is a bucket of sunshine and rainbows. It's not always the perfect day...there will be room for sad times. And that's just a fact. But what if you had a way to turn it around? What if you had an online guide to give yourself an instant boost of? Well this is it...the pick-me up post!

Mission: Survive the Bop It Extreme. Goal: Have hours of endless fun. Enough said.

If you're bummed but still have some energy left, you could always put yourself to good use. Boxing can really work when you're upset about something...just let those emotions OUT! Or if you're striving for something that lasts longer take up a class! Think boxing, dance, even the gym! I read something about exercise and how it really can make you feel happy. I think it has to do with realeasing endorphins. And how can you not be happy with exercise, you'll be pushing your limits while making yourself look even better! A second option is baking, and not just for yourself...you can bake for other people too? It will definitely give them something to smile about, which in turn will help you feel better about yourself.

I usually do not come across a book that can make me laugh. A book that can have humor that sticks with me. But I did come across a couple. The first is The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn which I think is in some ways pretty sensational. I love how Huck is on this whole journey of self-discovery while pulling off some pretty crazy shenanigans along the way. (One of those shenanigans includes dressing up as a girl and failing miserably). The second book is one that I looked into...and it seems like a really good read. And yeah it really is a survival guide for fighting against zombies. Useful?No. Entertaining?Oh yes! Catching up on reruns of your favorite show. Fresh Prince is a favorite of mine...I just love the moments Will and Carlton have together...so classic! Oh and remember theses words: "Its not unusual to be loved by anyone.Its not unusual to have fun with anyone." Baradadaaaaaaaaaa!

Magazines are my greatest fad and weakness. But depending on the magazine, you can find brilliantly written articles, wonderful fashion editorials, and so on. This is the cover of British Vogue Magazine by the way...and it fits very well with the post because it offers a "fashion pick-me up"! Then there's Men's vogue on top, I read a bit of the article on Will Smith. I have yet to finish but I'm definitely intrigued!

Analyzation

Let’s lay down the law on this post and this blog. (And I’m sorry that the new post has been much delayed). Anyway, I just wanted to say that the topics I cover and whatever it is that I talk about on this blog are things that I am passionate about. The Weekly Blogette is based on my thoughts, my feelings…my perspective.

Analyzation....
The perfect title for my post especially because lately my English class demands a student to look deeper into his or her thoughts and write down brilliant things on paper. (Still trying to master the “brilliant”part). I currently have to write about The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn and give my opinion of it...but enough of that, let's get to the post shall we?

Feathers...a trend that is not overused. Which makes me like it all the more. It has transcended from Fall 2007 (the first three pics) to Spring 2008 (the last three pics). If you look carefully this trend is sprinkled ever so carefully in particular collections like Fall 2007 Nina Ricci and Spring 2008 Roberto Cavalli. I think that feathers can be difficult to incorporate in a collection, you cannot add to much or else the outfit can appear as a costume. Put just enough, and you add some allure and elegance to the outfit. Also the appearance of feathers are soft and rather graceful...what I love about them is that they can put so much meaning into a garment. Delicacy, that is the meaning.
Brief fashion comment/rec.: Autumn/winter 2007-08 Paul and Joe: voluminous and innovative with bright eye popping colors. It’s grown up but not old…the construction is clean . If you do not know already the construction of a garment fascinates me which is why I love the atumn/winter collection. Actually, just check out http://paulandjoe.com/ it always has good music - the way the whole site is set up is great and animated. The song selction gives a smooth transition from the pictures to their clothes on the website.

Random pick: Something that everyone has to try...the Double Chocolate Chip Frappuccino.

I think that if there is one item that every girl should have it would be a charm bracelet. Or at least a bracelet with intersting little trinkets dangling on it.

Hmmm...Travis. (That's the name of the band.) Who I have discovered recently, which is rather sad since this band has been around for a while. I definitely definitely recommend their music! And if you want an idea on their "sound" Travis is reminiscent of Keane (another band). So, if you do have the time, you should look into this band, my favorite song by Travis is "closer", oh and "selfish jean" also deserves an honorable mention.

"Lars and the real girl" was an interesting movie-watching experience. This movie has two sides, and you can either see one or both of those sides. On the one side, this movie would basically be the life and death of a lovedoll. On the other side, it would be the story and healing of a man who has suffered emotionally and has kept those feelings inside of him. That person happens to be Lars, who has dealt with the death of both his mother and father-becoming an introverted individual. But that changes when he brings in "Bianca" the lovedoll, into the lives of his brother and sister-in-law. Lars begins to express himself through Bianca, and with the help of a doctor, starts to let go of his anguish. What really amazed me was that the town that Lars lives in is filled with people who do nothing but support him. Their support allows him to be ultimately healed.
I AM LEGEND: movie comment....

I just saw this movie today so I'll give my opinion of it while its fresh in my mind. I thought that Will Smith acted brilliantly, as usual. Intense emotions were delivered, especially in the flashbacks Will's character had of his wife and daughter during the city's evacuation. I also found the movie relatable to the world today. At one point, Will's character says "God didn't do this...we did". So, digest that for a second...what do you think of? My thoughts are global warming, war/destruction, etc. Things that we as human beings are responsible for, I'm not saying that you are at fault specifically. I'll be perfectly honest, I'm not perfect in protecting the environment or anything like that. I just think that things that happen in our world do not happen on their own, without us doing anything. So all in all this movie was good and very interesting.

(A good read that has a similar theme to I AM LEGEND would be: the Uglies series by Scott Westerfeld.)

Okay so I'm kicking this off with an amazing story, because well its so unbelievable. Its about a girl and a guy.....so whats so special right? Well this guy saw a girl on a subway, didn't talk to her but wanted to. When she left the subway, her image remained in his mind. So what does he do? Regret?Forget? No, he makes a website with the single goal of finding this girl-did I mention that this was in New York recently? And how many people are in New York. Well, to make a long story short he finds her. I am just in complete awe of this story. So I suggest you check it out for yourself. The story but most importantly the clip on how it all happened. Remember I said I'd reveal what GG or Gossip Girl's style I love? Well its Blair's. Her style is versatile and very proper at times so to speak. I don't watch the show (just the first episode) but judging by these pictures, Blair seems like someone who can happy one moment then lonely the next. Maybe even someone who wants to devour you in her wrath. Either way her style is something to be admired. It can be professional, chic, or schoolgirl with her own unique touch.

Futuristic and Fairytale Collide

Its good to be back...again. Thanks readers for all your awesome comments, they mean so much! Alright now for an update, last week was my birthday (Friday) followed by a wicked awesome party (Saturday). It was practically perfect! I had two rooms reserved next to these Asian Gardens, subway and mexican food for my friends and family, and a fab audio system to play mixed CDs I had someone do for me. The theme was Marie Antoinette inspired. I had my friends wear bright colored dresses/ outfits, colorful balloons at my party, and it was next to a Garden, which at some point is where my friends and I went leaving my party (for like 5 minutes). Haaaaah... it was so fun! I will forever remember it!

Anyway, here's my post. Hope you like, I try to be as creative as I can i my posts. In this postfuturistic-techno and fairytale are mushed together in aspects of fashion,music, and film.

Pretty Woman....basically your modern-day fairytale don't you think? I saw the PG version of it on television the other night and loved it! Classic! And these ensembles are tres elegante and classy.

Midnight Poison by Christian Dior: "A New Cinderella is born."

It seemed that for Fall 2007, there was this fairytale trend. I don't just mean, which does happen to fall under that description. But if you look at Marchesa, Monique Lhuillier, Rodarte, etc. Even for Spring 2008 John Galliano's dresses are fairytale-esque. If you're not quite sure let me give you a picture of what I think the "fairytale" trend is. To me its flowy, etheral dresses, that kind of open up or are eye popping when a person walks. Like the furth pic down for example, that dress opens up beautifully on the runway! Also, when I think fairytale I think of a princess in well a fairytale, one who sometimes tends to be the damsel in distress. Which is why I added the picture above. She looks like she'd be saying "I'm ready to be saved." Music that I think goes along with this trend is Emmy Rossum's "Slow Down" , she sings:

This movie looks interesting, original, and A-mazing! I mean the guys behind this movie are the guys that did Monsters Inc, Finding Nemo, etc. You should definitely see the trailer on

Elie Saab Fall 2007 couture

Oh yes! Dolce and Gabbana! These looks are from Fall 2007. The metallic sheen, the materials, and construction of the dresses scream futuristic! I could imagine this collection with Kylie Minogue's "Love at First Sight". The video has a techno edge and people that dance with robotic moves. In closing I fell upon ELLE magazine's new blog. Which happens to be mind-blowing! Its on http://fashion.elle.com/. As if the magazine itself wasn't great enough ELLE now has a great blog to match. I love it so much I took a picture from it (the credit still goes to ELLE of course).I don't see celebrities wear this color very much (on the dress Mrs. Victoria Beckham), but I tuly love it. So simple yet so vibrant!

Personal update:my b-day is in less than 2 weeks. It has really hit hit me yet, but I'm slowly getting more and more excited.

Also, a must buy is the Across the Universe soundtrack music from the motion picture. These are Beatles songs sung in fresh new voices. But if you want to buy this music purchase the deluxe, not the regular soundtrack with 16 songs. It is truly a heart felt and rockin' soundtrack.

Fashion updates!You're thrilled right! Well, the October Issue of ELLE is honored by having Reese Witherspoon as the cover girl. She looks beautiful btw, really!What amazing face structure and eyes, she is an American beauty. Not to mention a talented award winning actress. Her kids and family must be so proud. I am so satisified...no ecstatic that ELLE had someone on the cover who was just a pretty face but a role model. So thats that! (Oh the photoshoot is nice too.) In later news, ahem, small structured bags are deemed "in" style thanks to Marc Jacobs. He is a designer who I truly admire, I thought his story as a designer was fascinating. And as a matter of fact there's a great little article at this site:http://www.baltimoresun.com/entertainment/bal-al.eye09sep09,0,3105559.story . It is well written-I was glued to this article so please read it. I also thought you readers should know that http://www.apc.fr/us/en/index.php is a really wonderful site to look at for GUYS AND GIRLS. The clothing is rather pricey, but the pictures of the outfits and everything is just presented so well. So when looking for a whole look (styling, color combinations,etc.) go to thst site!

I know there are some disappointed fashionistas out there. Olympus Fashion Week did not deliver as to everyone’s expectations including myself. (Except for Marc Jacobs, I mean when does he not?) Not to mention FASHION ROCKS, which was a dud, where was the fashion by the way? A little mention here and there, sure there were some well dressed celebs and designer appearances, but come on! FASHION ROCKS was made into a musical event-horrible shock compared to the one from one or two years ago. Either way there were some designers who impressed in NY fashion week. Badgley Mischka showed various looks ranging from smart, clever, edgy and feminine. No it was not the perfect collection, but it did serve as a good one. Here is my favorite design out of the whole collection, and it happens to be a swimsuit.

Bill Blass…rephrase that the GREAT Bill Blass! His line oozes confidence-honestly, I instantly woke up when I saw this collection. Even the simplest of dresses were impeccable and had attitude! If you look at this collection it’s basically just dresses, but I truly think that that kind of focus is what made his line so inspiring.Wondering why I have no favorite….well the whole collection blew me away! I have no favorite. You will have to check it out yourself.

Here's a little Luella thrown into the mix. Her aesthetic is always youthful! It definitely supports GEEK CHIC.But I prefer calling it smart and chic.

In the words of Kayne from Project Runway Season3 :”gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous”…or at least I think it was hmm…huh….anywho!It was modern it was beautiful-I’m surprised that LELA ROSE doesn’t get enough praise! There was even a little sporty flair in some of the clothes, which were brilliantly designed. By far my favorite collection.
Nicole Millers’s collection was crisp, clean-cut, and well put together. The prints on their own were amazing! I personally was not a fan of the hats-the dent down the middle bugged me. Yet all in all this was quite an impressive collection.

Jenni Kayne…I truly think she doesn’t fail to impress. Her collection was to the point and absolutely adorable. Oh and guess what Danielle from America’s Next Top Model was one of the models! I really admired the shades and fabrics incorporated in this collection.

Here are the top 5 Fall Picks. First is an Uggs bag-who doesn't love Uggs? Uggs has certainly broadenes its horizons with more shoes and bags and such. Second is the pencil skirt. If there's anything I've learned from WHAT NOT TO WEAR, is that every woman could use a well fitting skirt.Better yet a pencil skirt! Which means I will have to purchase one one of these days. Third is Uggs...again. I promise I'm not obsessed, I just thought I'd share my findings. I believe its leather, a milk-chocolate if you will...with a wooden heel. Next is a Peter Som dress I spotted on ELLE.com. I would probably layer with this dress. My idea of the total look:the dress,skinny jeans, a tee under the dress, my hair with the little poof in the front (my bangs pinned back), a purple ankle boot, and pearl stud earrings. Last is Sunsilk, I just started using it and I've never felt my hair softer. Its right up there with John Frieda (Brilliant Brunette smells divine!).

Okay I haven't blogged for a while not sure if many people noticed but yeah. Its like Alison from bombazinedoll.blogspot.com said, this blog felt more like a job than well a blog. So with school homework to finish, I wasn't too hesitant to leave it alone for a while. Aside from that I like to give a special thanks to Alison aka Bombazine Doll, who from the beginning of me making this blog was always stopping by. She was also very nice and helpful when I asked about making a header on my blog. I also like to thank Jennifer from Mahalo Fashion who left a comment saying "blog girl"! Lastly I want to thank Emma from the "If you can't say anything nice come sit her by me" blog, she has always left such comments-hers I appreciate a lot! And well all you other readers I appreciate too...I'm not going to name each one, but you know who you are. Now for the post!

Okay, so I have myself a little new school year resolution. I'm going to not be so all over the gaff, that way I won't stress as much. The first day of school was Thursday, and from that time since I have no complaints. Only one: the chips from the cafeteria are not so great anymore. They used to be so good too.I mean their not goppin' or anything but they're definitely not great. Now I ask you this are you an ickle bit confused mate? Well you should be-I just used some brit. slang. I love english accents, so I decided to investigate how the british talk (what their slang is).

I have to say the soundtrack just blows my mind-its so moving! As for the costumes...I think the tailoring is rather brilliant (although the pics I provided don't really show it as much as I'd like). The pics do show color though! Keira's character has quite an inspiring wardrobe. What do you guys think?

"I need a hero!"

Oh so my camping trip was A-mazing (yes I know thatsnot how you spell it). The staff was nice, friendly, and always made sure I was safe before doing an activity. Here are some activities I did....1)The Power Pole: you climb this 25 ft or ever so slightly more feet of a pole (no worries there are things to step on on the way up), then you a stand on the very top, get ready to leap, and jump towards this big red ball and touch it. You are harnessed the hole time, and the staff has your back like the whole time.2) Sky coaster:people pull you by a rope 40 feet into the air, then you pull a cord once ready, and brace for a yank as you free fall and swing back and forth...up until you come to a stop.3)One of my fav. activites was the climbing wall. It is pretty much self explanatory you know a wall with fake rock holds at various levels:easy, medium, and hard inside of a gym. It was my first time on one and it was a blast!
Alright here is the much awaited post. Before I start though, keep in mind what you might want me to post about. No I am not facing an inspiration block, I just want to make this blog more enjoyable for you readers!

Here are two beauties who I think have unique looks. First is Johnny Depp's better half: Vanessa Paradis. This lady is french, she acts, and I just love love love her last name! The girl below her is you guessed it a model!Who might you ask? Well her name is Darla, not sure what to think about the name. Should I go awwwwwwwwwwwwww or should I say her name in a western accent? hehehehe.

Here are a couple of shots from the Oscar de la Renta collection. These pics really spoke to me...they're absolutely divine! With the expert tailoring and whatnot this season, the average woman is being presented as a powerful figure. The clothes effervesce total chic and sleekness.

JUST SO YOU READERS KNOW THIS WEEK I'M POSTING ON SATURDAY, SINCE I'M GOING TO CAMP FOR A FEW DAYS!ENJOY THE POST!

I grab inspiration from designer collections and pictures I find on style.com, ELLE.com, magazines, etc. Sometimes, and this has happend lately, I find myself inspired by fashion spreads rather than the person on the cover of the magazine. But as we all know inspiration can be found anywhere, not just in fashion. Sure, what I just named is where I get inspiration, but that's more of artistic inspiration. No, no, I get hardcore inspiration from people, their stories, which are at times made into film. This one way in which I get some will and determination....MOVIES!

REAL & INSPIRATIONAL (3 MOVIES)

A person has to go thru a lot of dramatic events (lamen's terms:bad stuff) in order to get to the good, yeah? Especially when that person is a teacher trying to make a group of unlikely students to become a family. This day in age, even middle schoolers get tried many times before becoming adults. They've just got a lot on their plate-unlike how it was say many years ago. In this movie, a teacher by the name of Ron Clark, (yes it's that actor who plays Chandler on "Friends"), changes the lives of his 7th grade class. He does this by showing them that they can do more than the standards already set by their parents. Underneath it all lays a bright group of children:smart, artistic, and gifted. This is a very moving story that will practically bring you to tears!

"Freedom Writers" serves as a movie recommend, since I have not see it yet. I will just say what I do know about it, despite not having watched it. I know that it is based on a real story. It's a movie that proves that one person, in whcih case is the teacher, can make all the difference. Lastly, it's about beating the odds and going above someone else's expectations. Keep in mind though that my friend an previous English teacher said it was very good. So, just because I can't provide my non-existing experence of it doesn't mean you shouldn't look into it.

This is the third of inspirational movies..."The Pursuit of Happyness". Will Smith and his son have a great connection not only off screen but onscreen also. Will Smith portrays Chris Gardner who went for an internship as a stock broker. Chris wants to make a better life for his son Chrsitopher (played by Jaden). This movie is based on true events-it connects to man's struggle of the day-to-day life. Not only that, but how all of us try to survive in the world we live in. Whether it be working those extra shifts or just getting food on the table. A really good movie will pull you in; make you experience every tear, struggle, and those oh so special moments. "The Pursuit of Happyness" does just that and more.

ALL AROUND FAVORITE SHOW

In just about every episode of "The Cosby Show", there's that special moment. It's either a profound loving moment or the down-right laughing I'm going to stop breathing moment. No matter what I think I'm always going to love this show. There are only so many shows that are wholesome and will leave a lasting impression on you. There's always something to anticipate on-brilliantly spoken lines and witty remarks. The show is realistic and there is something in it for everybody!

A FAVORITE KIDDIE SHOW

Do you all remember BANANAS IN PAJAMAS? I loved them so much. Yes, this is before someone decided to make a cartoon out of a yellow sponge. Spongebob may be good, but BANANA IN PAJAMAS was great!

A FAVORITE OLDEN TIME MOVIE

The 1949 version of "Little Women" has a very good cast. Each little woman has something that distinguishes herself from her sister. You've got Jo the tomboy, Megg the proper beauty (not that all these girls aren't beautiful), Amy the outspoken high-class girl, and Beth the charitable. I really loved this movie, I mean its a classic, right? I have yet to read the book, but I'll get to it! I never watched the 1933 version, but for the time-being this movie was more than satisfactory. Although, I'd really like to see the 1994 version....

FOREIGN FILM

I recently watched this on the Sundance channel and was drawn to it. I was first drawn to it because of the story: a man is attracted to a gal who shops compulsively for clothes. And its really no joke, these woman has a serious problem, but very good taste. I mean you've got Michael Kors, Chanel, some really great shoes, the works! I was also drawn to this film because of its music. It's haunting, sombre, but rather uplifting. Which completely reflects the mood of the film itself. If anything, "Tony Takitani" a film of interst defintely worth seeing!

THE MUST-SEE UPCOMING MOVIE

"Across the Universe" is a movie musical feauturing a bunch of Beatles songs. But here's the twist...they're sung by new voices! Evan Rachel Wood, Jim Sturgess, and other amazing actors. Looking at the trailer, I'm reminded of Moulin Rouge. Though its only because of the lovestory, amazing color, and huge energy.ONLY. Yet thats just enough for me to see it. A Series of Awesome Places and Events

Chinatown in Los Angeles is a must-see in CA. The shopping is great; my purchases there were Hello Kitty slippers, chinese slip-on shoes, a silk-like shirt, and a messenger bag. All my purchases were inexpensive and extremely stylish. The food is delicious there also-2 people can eat there for like $9. I would suggest the restaurant's name but I don't remember since I have not been to Chinatown for a while. I kind of miss it though. Anyway, the restaurant I went to was near the entrance of Chinatown and across the street from a sea food place. Also, these pics range from first 1940s, second 1975, and third present-time. I love the first because its a post card from the 1940s and it looks fantastic!

I haerd about this event thru a friend. She said that a buch of people basically gather together and start making things like jewelery, clothes, you name it! I went online to investigate and I found some very talented people. First is September McGee, she is a painter and she did the second and third pic down. I just think that her use of color is brilliant and gives her pics that much vibrance. Second, is Emily Howell who makes jewelery-that is one of her creations in the pic above. Lastly, is David Linnig who is a photographer. Now, I didn't get any pics because I think you should see them for yourself. The Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising is having an Open House. At this event you can explore careers in fashion, business, graphic design, etc. So if you have the time, try to reserve a place for yourself at http://fidm.edu/admissions/open-house/index-reserve.html. The campuses are located in L.A., San Francisco, Orange County, and San Diego.

This the one and only, the first, the original Johnny Rockets! It's located along Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles. I went there Wednesday Night for the first time. Actually it was my first time at any Johnny Rockets! Well, to get to the int I loved it! I think that JR might even have better shakes than "IN and OUT ". SHOCKER!I know. The place is surrounded with 50s pictures, mini jukeboxes, and people in those white paper hats!JR is definitely a place you can't miss!

I gave you readers a list of awesome places but get ready for this one....fashion rehab. Now for some it may sound scary. You definitely wouldn't want to go there but if you were a fashion criminal you would definitely have to. Yes, it is imaginary but if it existed it would be a little something like this:
First of all, time spent at rehab would depend on how many fashion rules are broken. And although some are unwritten they should be present somewhere in your mind!(Ex:no one wears platform shoes anymore, and no one ever should have.) The counsleors would be Stacy and Clinton from "What not to wear". Let's face it they know their fashion! The rehabilitation would be furnished by Ikea. Now the schedule at the rehabilitation would go as follows: *Note that the there will be one rehab for guys and another for gals.

(Monday-Friday) 8-8:30 Breakfast

9:00-12:00 Fashion Therapy: one-on-one session with Tim Gunn and each rehabee. The focus of this session is reviewing past fashion choices and recognizing mistakes.

12:00-12:30 Lunch

12:30-1:00 Freetime

1:00-2:00 Exercise (gotta stay fit ladies and gents!)

2:00-3:00 Counseling. Discussion is based on denial and fashion solutions for the future. These discussions are with Stacy and Clinton and all the rehabees.

3:00-5:00 Daily dose of fashion medicine, which includes American Vogue, Teen Vogue, and ELLE. Most imprtantly the reading would include a book entitled Tim Gunn: A Guide to Quality, Taste and Style.

5:00-7:30 Open to visitors/freetime.

8:00-10:00 Fashion movie.

11:00 Lights out!!

Well after all the fabulous places and events I have to end the note on fashion. Short hair is currently in right now, and there are plenty of people rockin' it. Although, I think Natalie Portman needs to be mentioned. Her hair has grown since, I know, but she looked great! No matter what Natalie looked confident and happy. Her hair may have been edgy a bit, but she remained glamorous in her clothes. She's an example of someone who knows how to work the hair, and she is so stylish I mean come on!

I'VE GOT A NEW HEADER!SO READERS GIVE SOME FEEDBACK!And without further ado here's your weekly post:

Jimmy Choo shoes!Trying saying that 5 times fast. I saw these shoes in an ad from the curent American Vogue magazine...falling head over heels. (And no not literally). And listing the price would probably just make you scream....so I guess it'll just have to serve for nice eye candy.SIGH. The Marc Jacobs lace-ups are the second pic down and just a little somthing that I think expresses "the" Fall shoe.

P.S. Don't get discouraged by designer prices. There's great find out there somewhere! Try MACY's when they're having a sale. My mom and I were able to get a Vera Wang nightgown for a good price. You can also check out the SPECIAL ITEMS category on Marc Jacobs.com. There's a shirt that says "paradise" for only $30..but keep in mind that those items are only available at a MJ store. But still its nice to look at your options.

Here are a couple desirable mentions.....bags by Luella. She has a unique aesthetic in clothing, and I decided to check out her bags. Which just happen to be GORGEOUS. First, there's the bag with a label. Nowadays bags with a saying or label tend to be in high demand. And the second bag has studs, which has become rather trendy. Remember if you're going for a studded accessory select something that doesn't look tacky or is so overpowering that it might toughen your look.

Well, to me it seems that there is a trend that has not been truly noticed. Well...more like a chosen inspiration. This Fall it looks like some designers chose a culture/race as an influence in their collections. A mix of russian, british, roman, etc. The designers feautured are Vera Wang, Ralph Lauren, Louis Vuitton, and others. Well here it is...and its something I like to call CLASH of the Cultures.

Movie of the moment: "The Umbrellas of Cherbourg". A french musical with amazingly beautiful pictures.Oui c'est belle! This movie proves that you can find love again! Plus, it has such great fashion, especially the clothes worn by the character "Genevive". Style is right uo there with Breakfast at Tiffany's.Seriously!

The rocker look is coming around. I've spotted it in ELLE and teenvogue. I want to pull off this look so I decided to grab inspiration from ads and celebs namely Whitney and Lauren Conrad. Designer icon: Jenni Kayne. She is just an inspiration to me. Jenni Kayne got into the fashion industry in her early '20s and is making it big time! I admire her for that. These pics are from her Fall '07 collection. The one I like most is the first, because it has some rocker flair with that hot black jacket!

Christian Bale is a great actor from what I've seen in The Prestige! And now I'm watching him again in Rescue Dawn. Its based on a true story about a pilot who goes on a mission (during the Vietnam war) and is taken captive. OH, and this camera pic is similar to a camera I want to get at Target. And yes it is pink!

These are my top 5 from the Academy Awards. The last pic is by far my fav! Gwen Stefani has the most well-put together look from many gals I have seen (actresses, celebs and whatnot). From her videos to award shows she really pulls it off. What I love is how versatile she is.....Gwen can be "natural"/sophisticated/modern. I also adore Gwyneth Paltrow dress by Zac Posen.. it kicks up the volume at this award show for sure!

Okay so am I the only gal blown away by the brilliance in the CHLOE ads? I mean they're great. Its all about the BAG! As it should be. The first ad was taken form way back when, and the second is still more current. I'm just as wowed from the before and now ads. The last bag isn't Chloe, but I saw it at Anchor Blue thought it was cute. I ended up getting a bag that is white with black intricate flower print, with a couple of buttons and circular cut shiny shells, plus that cute tooth accessory that tends to be popular on and off again.

SEW U is a book which has been acknowledged by ELLE and something I most definitely need to learn sewing. It provides patterns and from what I have read online appears quite helpful. This is going on my soon-to-buy booklist for sure!

A Long Way Gone by Ishamel Beah is based on true events, I am currently reading it and am deeply touched. It has made me aware of what has happened...things I never knew. This book is real and grips you by the heart-strings. It has made me appreciate more the environment I live in and my life itself.

Sometimes it can be hard to sport the natural look when you have acne, but it is possible. Use the Neutrogena Complete Acne Therapy System and you will see major improvement. I use it and I know someone else uses this, it works great. I prefer it rather than Proactiv b/c its better in many ways. Its a less time consuming routine (not as many steps) and it doesn't leave you looking shiny. The second pic down is a brow kit that you can find on sephora.com. Take care of them brows girl, definition is very important! The third down is my must-have and its by COVERGIRL. Looking at the add for "fruit spritzers" lip-gloss didn't look so great, but I saw the commercial and it looked so good on Rihanna! So now I'm just dying to buy it-plus I'm running out of lipgloss which cannot happen. I also think that with a natural look this lip-gloss can give just the right touch. The fourth down is bronzer by Revlon, which will give you that natural look. It not heavy and will definitely add emphasis to your face. Okay so maybe you won't want to be natural all the time and will want an edgy look..use Bedroom Eyes by Revlon. This powder line is great, I use it and have been commented on how it looks. And this can work for day or night.

Marc Jacobs has Scarlett Johansson, why shouldn't I have a muse? This is mine. She happens to be nameless (word for describing me not knowing her name). To me she is the face of Fall '07, fair-skinned and natural. Her blue eyes simply pop out, don't they? I think she demonstrates how girls can be naturally pretty. You don't always need a bunch up make-up. Draw the line when you stop wearing the make-up and it begins to wear you! This image is from ELLE.com.

RANDOM SECTION!!!Images I selected courtesy of ELLE.com. Funny how each look differs so much from the other! I surprise myself. Here's a little something I created somewhat a story but more like created personalities. What is true is that the the two girls on the lft are in fact models; and the 3rd girl IS from L.A. and the one to the right is from New York. Ohter than that the rest is pretty much my doing...well here it goes!

I know in "Charlie's Angels" there were 3 girls, but these are Fashion's Angels let's make it 4 girls. Starting from the left is a model, who is sporting a very trendy double breasted coat. The slimmish boots and leather bag fit her. I would imagine this girl being mysterious and always on the go-but that's any Angel. So, we'll says she's sophisticated but has an edge that not everyone can figure out. The second girl is also a model (Iekeleine Stange), who is wearing a light sheer pruple dress, a dark coat, and metallic shoes. Its rather ballerina-esque. I'd imagine her being graceful and kind. And although her glasses symbolize intellect, it doesn't mean that she can't focus on being stylish. The third girl is from L.A., and she makes me think of the Angel who is the life of the party! She oozes cool but in a very laid back kind of way. And the last girl to the furthest right is somewhat the opposite. Yes she's cool, but it takes a while for people to figure out (she's from New York). She dresses for comfort but wears this skinny pant very well! She make look a little tough but in reality has an overall demure attitude (with the ability to conquer anything!)

The designers shown here are Bottega Veneta (BV), J. Mendel (JM), and Carolina Herrera (CH). The first dress is from BV, and I really love how the design and shape is different from what's out there. The material is also great-only critique is that not many girls could where it unless they were skinny. That's because from the waist down the shape of the dress turns into either flattering or not flattering at all. But I have to say I love it! The next two dresses are JM. Very evening.I like the shorter dress most, b/c looking at it it's the perfect little black dress with a twist. A piece I'd want to add to my wardrobe! The golden dresses are BV again, and the collection in all is great. I suggest watching it online. The music is very "Breakfast at Tiffany's" along with the mood of the clothes. The 4th of July Special

Hello fellow readers! I have decided on making posts on this blog weekly. What is yet to be decided is the day it will be posted on. I was thinking either Monday, Friday, or Saturday. I think that Monday would be an especially great day b/c its the beginning of the week and not many people are a fan of Mondays, this would be like a Monday Brightener! But its not quite up to me, its up to those of you who read the posts. Which of the 3 days I put would you most likely check out my blog? I WANT YOU to decide! While you gather your thoughts please enjoy the following late 4th of July special. C'est magnifique!

Here are some really nice FINDS provided by Macys.com. I've chosen the first pic because I love many things BABYDOLL. I think the cut is really great for dresses and tops. The second, is a bermuda short, very close to the short I am wanting to shop for very soon. I like how its dyed or however you want to put it. And the last is a jumper with cute green buttons layered over a white tee. I think layering is brilliant! I just hope that this girl is wearing a cotton tee under that breathes...or else it'll be one hot summer for her!

Introducing the lovely Claire Danes...not that she's foreign or anything! Her style is sleek and classic, and at times simplistic. I decided to choose some of her most stylish moments. I really enjoy the first pic for its gold sheen, it really catches my eye. The second pic is clean and elegant. In the third its not so much about the dress (surprisingly) although it is interesting-I love the confidence Claire presents. She shows a very powerful and striking look. The fourth pic is a little romantic which I like. The black lace dress is pretty and the pink shrug adds a light yet impeccable touch to the whole look. And the last pic makes Claire look very well put together. Whether her dress has a venetian print I'm not sure, but I like it all the same. The belt is a great accessory, highlighting her torso/waist, and her hair which is partly pinned back pulls everything together. Very nice!

I think I'm calling this my "Random" categeory. Here we have the serta sheep, but not just any of the numerous sheep...#1! I love #1, not just because he's the leader of the pack and has blue eyes...he is also the most dedicated of sheep. You got to admire a sheep like him, oh yes! I believe he looks very modelesque in this pic, nice job #1! Secondly, is this electric guitar featuring none other than Badtz-Maru himself. He's a sanrio character along with the famous Hello Kitty, Chococat, etc. And I love HK (Hello Kitty) just as much as the next girl, and I really want that HK toaster, but I think Badtz-Maru shouldn't be ignored! He has to be acknowledged like the cute penguin he is,-I love this guy!

Its time to promote peace! You remember hearing about the 70s? You know like all out flashy glitz and glam style, bell bottoms, crazy colors/prints, wide leg trousers, the works?! A time where the war was unpopular, and hippies would try to promote peace by protests and whatnot. Well...maybe its time some peace be promoted now. With all kinds of wars going on in the world (race, ethnicity, greed, power,etc.) we cannot chose to give a blind eye. In other words its time to learn a little more about what's going on. One major thing, more like ISSUE, is the genocide in Darfur. Its a battle of ethnicities and of oil and the government...its pretty bad. Children are being left parentless, there's starvation, etc. Before I continue on I'm going to be honest and say that I am no current-day hippie, off spreading the word to everyone I know and making big donations. But I know its important to know about what's going on in the world. And that is a great starter point for everybody, GETTING THE KNOWLEDGE!! Once you know you can then ACT. Poverty is also a big issue around the globe. Did you know that just by taking a few minutes to go online and give your "signature" to a letter to the government you can make a difference? Countries will be given financial aid so its citizens don't have to suffer. One.org is an organization that does this. And you don't have to pay to be a member, all they want is your pledge to help out those in need. You can also checkout savedarfur.org, its very informative about whats going on in Sudan. My main point though is that we should all just try and do what we can. I too will put forth a better effort into doing what I CAN in getting educated and helping those who need help. I think that it truly is up to all of us to do our part.

5) If I'm listening to a song I tend to dance. What can I say. Yes that does include inside the car. A lot. Hey I didn't say I could breakdance in such a small space.
6) I have a slight fascination with hair. Curly, or buzzed (feels fuzzy), etc.
7) My favorite destination in CA: Solvang. Its really cute, it seems like this little lost Dutch village. (Considering the urban environment most of us live in.)

Zac Posen is my kinda designer. I really look up to him. His taste is like divine. He knows what a girl would wear and is a fashion genius. To top it off he's a youngin'! Which is makes him a triple threat to anyone-I mean come on that young with all the experience in the world?! I am left in awe. The 2 pics below the designer himself are from his Fall 2007 collection. I definitely get a romantic vibe from it. Especially with the first pic. The following pic shows how exquisite the construction is on his dresses. Like I said I'm in awe. Jaw dropping. Ohmigosh. Oh and that bag not by Zac. Random I know. It was just a quick find I picked up. Designer: Pierre Hardy. The bag is simple but it definitely gives a statement. What is it saying to you?

FYI: SHADES are the biggest accessory this season, basically next to the oversized leather bag you know you've been eyeing. My top 3 sunglasses: starting from the first. I actually own those red shades. Which happen to fit my now choppy haircut. Its very 80s. And I am no big fan of the 80s. Thats how much I love those shades.The 3rd shades down remind me of Ray-Bans. So I guess you could say its a ray-ban look a likes. Just one that is at a more reasonable price range. And the fifth pair is well edgy/classic take your pick. Aviators...I think those fit a heart-shaped face or one that is square. Which is why I DON'T own aviators. I am an oval faced chickie...sigh...no biggie.

The Best Day Ever

For a Monday, today was not too shabby. If anything it was a really great day! And I think after experiencing one I have 3 ingredients to making a great day:
1) Get a completely new hairstyle/haircut over the weekend to freak your friends out later. If showing off that new do isn't the best part seeing your friends reaction will be. (I got my hair cut really short over the weekend. Being the end of the year and all and not anyone's expectations people were shocked. Yea they thought it was cute but they were sooooo funny. One of my friends who will remain nameless.hehehe, literally stopped in her tracks. I couln't help but smile.)
2) Wear a brightly colored sundress. Show off your femininity, (modestly though) being the end of the school year you can push aside any doubt of that dress you were dying to wear!
3) Carry a happy tune in your head to stay in a good mood. Make sure you pick a song you won't regret getting put into your head. I suggest "Umbrella" by Rihanna, "New Shoes" Paolo Nutini, or "I'll look after you" by The Fray.
Well there you have it...a recipe for a great day souffle! Don't take the delightful servings sparingly take it all in. Enjoy!

These are photos taken in two different fashion spreads. I have discovered a model named Lara Stone. And I have to say I really love how she poses. Just like a writer who hits their point on paper, Lara hits her expression on camera. In the first 4 photos, you witness 70s fashion, love the chunky ring in that last pic.And in the very very last pic (where she's holding pearls) Lara supports the expression "If looks could kill..."

If it isn't Emmy Rossum's hair or the sweet smile she gives you definitely gotta love the actress for her style. Not only that but notice that whatever she wears Emmy has fun and go with it. She totally works the dress. I think that kind of parallels to every designer's dream, not just to see a beautiful starlet/star wearing their piece, but flaunting it! I think out of all 5 looks I love the first. Emmy is having the most fun in that one and the versatility is amazing, the dress is gorgeous from the trim to the lace!

PUNK VS. SOPHISTICATE

I decided to throw some pop art in..I though it was 80s appropriate, anyway onto fashion....The 80s era of glitz and glam and plaid,etc. We remember converse and heavy makeup. And it has transversed into Fall 2007 known as punk. I just happen to love it! Skinny pants rock my world, dramatic makeup from time to time (smokey eye, stained berry lips,etc.), and a bit of grunge....It all coincides with punk. But who says glitz and glam has to be punk?! It could also be what I call THE SOPHISTICATE. Sequins, sparkles, clean lines, the impecability of it all. Metallic heels and cute leather bags...sigh. Though I have a love for punk, I am a sophisticate...it makes me feel comfortable in my own skin kind of thing I guess. If you dress punk you don't have to feel like a rebel but you most likely are. It could be breaking the boundaries of fashion, standing up for causes, not wnting to do homework(just kidding). Either way the sophisticate is my chosen style, because for me materials in sophisticate style cause an outfit to flow or give off a confident energy. It can be clean and simple and it feels much more luxurious. Well that me...WHATS YOUR STYLE?

Black shades are always a classic. Aviator shaped frames are sleek, as long as the frame isn't too chunky. I fit it's too heavy, the frame will make the shades look like we've retrogressed back to those bad 80s shaped glasses people had to wear. (You know like back in the day,hehehe). At the top, there is a Marc Jacobs model wearing glasses..who said shades can't have an intellectual side? I love the shades worn by Iekeliene Stange, the're edgy because they have a frame with neat prints...LOVE IT!

Risk-takers

Models...they're the ones exposed to fashion the most. Many of them have great personal style and are quite composed. There are some however may not be as composed and take that fine line of risk in make-up or style. In the first pic Agyness Deyn is feautured-she's in stripes a lether hoodie jacket, frayed shorts, and lace leggings/tights so to speak. I think the shorts and lace tights are quite a risk, its in between cutting edge and almost goes into the norm usual outfit. Second is Iekeliene Stange who has her very own style. You can tell she likes to mix it up a bit. I like her look because it reminds me of the whole harajuku style. But question those glasses...WOULD YOU CONSIDER THESE ANOTHER VERSION OF HOW TO FLAUNT GLASSES?IS THIS A WEARABLE TREND? I think as a model she can pull it off, I doubt however if I could. And I can't imagine a normal person walking down the street in that outfit. So like I said models are the risk takers, its definitely something to admire, seeing as how some of us who aren't models, are afraid to take that risk. Lastly, there's Kate Moss, I'm not saying this is her usual makeup style, obviously it was done for her for the photo. But I chose this because I think it can be a bit controversial...the makeup is way dramatic and it would very much catch my eye if I saw this makeup on someone at school. Yet, you have to notice that if any more shadow was added to those eyes, she would have raccoon eyes...which would be not so fashionably dramatic just too DRAMATIC. So, my point is that if models can do this whether its their job or their own style, why can't we? We have nothing to lose by experimenting. Sure we may not always pull it off, but somebody's got to try it out.

ADORABLE MAKEUP, A PERFUME BOTTLE, AND AN UPCOMING FALL

This post's title sounds like a story but I assure you it is not boring read. These 3 looks represent what will be key this coming Fall. We have the jumper which is by Jenni Kayne, a vest (designer not sure, but you should know that menswear is influential to Fall style), and Marc by Marc Jacobs look.I love the layers, leggings, knit sweater, the thick socks, and lace-up boots. I give the look an A+ because it looks effortless but very fashion forward. (Not that I have a license to judge a look, but hey this is a BLOG, right?)

I adore the aroma of the Vera Wang Princess Perfume.But what gets me really excited about buying this is that you can use the cap as a ring.SWEEEEET!

Makeup, perfume of the month, and 3 key pieces for Fall 2007. These girlfriend are what you call THE WORKS!!A lot of makeup I've been seeing involves the read paut, the smokey eye, and wing-tipped color liner. For the red paut I recommend Neutrogena Moistureshine, the version of course. And just so you know the red paut looks better for those with fair/light skin. And Neutrogena moistureshine has lipstick, lipgloss, and lipbalm. Say goodbye to chapped lips ladies. Now you get the total package. I have this and it lasts pretty well and tingles once you apply it. Its my new love in makeup. As for the smoky eye, a black eyeshadow is good (Revlon:bedroom eyes). But beware how much you apply...you don't want to look like a raccoon. Make sure you put just enough shadow on the bottom of your eye but no more than the top.As, for wing-tipped liner, you should really use a bright/dark color depending on your eyes. For brown-eyed chickies use purple or blue, for you people with blue or green eyes, use a brighter color like pink/light blue. Oh and I musn't forget the metallic eye...gold/silver whatever works best on you.

Here, we have Amanda. The stylish receptionist at MODE magazine (just so you know "mode" means fashion in french). Amanda is always in on the know-how and when it happens. She is one my favorite characters and is one of two people that I call the duo.

The other half of the hilarious duo...Mark! I absolutely love his character on the show. He has a way of being harsh, but in a very amusing way.

I've found some shoes which I hope you all enjoy! Umm...these shoes go along with the trends for spring/summer of 2007. You've got the whole "futurism" theme with the silver high-top converse and the vans shoe with hearts for the "romantic". And the other two are just shoes I really liked. The high-top converse with a turquoise print is my favorite, just because it has such an intricate design. I found this recently...its a different take on Alice in Wonderland (like Gwen Stefani in "What you waiting for" music video) . This fashionable story layout was in Vogue magazine of December 2003 and photographed by Annie Leibovitz. Who might I say is extraordinary! She did that amzing photo of Tom and Katie where baby Suri was in Tom's jacket. (Featured on the cover of Vanity Fair). Anyway, I really like this layout and hope you enjoy. By the way, you'll spot some prominent people of the fashion world-Marc Jacobs, Karl Lagerfeld, Tom Ford, well see for YOURSELF!
FYI: What I like about Alice in Wonderland in general, is that its one of those stories that's way out there. Get Your Beauty Sleep

These are a few of my favorite ads by Prada. I love how there are metallic tones involved and the shoes are absolutely to die for! They look great with the grey tights. Which I think is a major trend (tights in general). But looking at these makes me think about sleep...and then I wondered how important is it..really?! I did a little research and found that not every person has to sleep a certain amount hours (it differs for everyone). Sometimes I can get 6 hours of sleep and feel great compared to ten where I end up still being tired. And I've found out that not getting enough sleep continually, creates a bigger chance in someone using alcohol. If you do get enough sleep though, the hours you spend sleeping will contribute to better skin and weight loss!

Spring brings all kinds of trends out, but I want to feature trends in accessories. For me the ballet flat is a classic, and I love headbands that go beyond the norm. There are so many different designs out there. And I really adore the Marc Jacobs gem-studded headband at the very top. Oh...but besides flats and headbands, there are wedges with that woooden detail, metallic heels, layers of long necklaces, and pendants too! FALL PREVIEW

Here's trends I've spotted for this fall. There's crocidile skin bags, flat boots, and clothing (usually jackets) with a military twist. Out of the 3 items I love the flat boots the most! The designer is Oscar de la Renta. The boots really compliment the collection. Which if you've seen it, is low-key when it comes to colors. Yet it has sophistication and a classy edge.
