SUMMER SUMMER SUMMER

(Glamour magazine [France])
Summer can bring all sorts of surprises. In a way it's a season that's almost magical. Warm weather comes forth, summer flings happen, and a general change comes about. I have yet to fully grasp what the summer of 2009 has in store for me. One thing that is for certain is that college begins just next week for me. I almost sense a rush of adrenaline just thinking about it. Do you wonder what lies ahead this summer for YOU?

THIS WEEK'S ADVENTURES....

BEACH LOUNGING AND TANNING
(Anna Paquin from the latest Self Magazine covershoot)

Apartment shopping for my new abode near college
(H Magazine)
Hopefully, I don't have any issues with that....
This week I sported my new white fedora with black ribbon from the place above called Mudra.
It's found at the Promenade in Santa Monica, probably the most amazing shopping is found here

Lastly I saw the new Transformers movie- I must say I never knew robots had such bad language. That was probably the real issue I had with this movie. However I can honestly admit this film didn't leave me bored for a second

In my next post you'll get an Ultimate Summer Guide. Are you ready readers?
Other than updating the blog, swamped with end of the year schoolwork, making time for friends, (the list goes on), I do enjoy a great film now and again.
Today I saw UP, talk about a movie on high-flying adventure! You really cannot ask anymore from a movie like this, its hilarious, entertaining, and truly moving.
If you have not watched it yet, it is a MUST-SEE

COMFY NOT BORING

WHOEVER SAID COMFY HAD TO BORING? OR UNSTYLISH?

This is a good look for NOW, especially since we are transitioning from Spring to Summer soon...

Thats Hayden sporting a grey sweater, not the sequin embellishment.
A little sparkle is always good.....

Or even A LOT! A LOUD accessory like a chunky necklace, adds to a simple ensemble
Metal Necklace piece from the Fall 2009 Jason Wu Collection
(Freida Pinto)
This would be a nice outfit to lounge in-denim cutoffs with light top and and eyecatching and interesting necklace

AMERICAN APPAREL
White can be simple yet romantic
URBAN OUTFITTERS

A wide belt at the waist isn't just a good addition but a flattering piece to flaunt on one's figure
Also, given this "look" you can play up your makeup go crazy!! Think of it as artistic freedom.

Keeping it FRESH

HEY READERS SORRY FOR BEING SO M.IA., but I'll be making up for lost times, practice some consistency....

These looks are from SMASHBOX, and yes that is my current lover. I ♥ SMASHBOX with a passion! My fave product from Smashbox is the Jet Set waterproof eye liner in Midnight Purple. (It makes my brown eyes go BAM! So I guess that makes me a little biased....)
Anyways, some mascara, with a plum lip, and bronzer/light blush, is just the right look for the incoming season!

Bleached jeans are definitely big now. I've seen in it the Balmain collection, Urban Outfitters, etc. I'm beginning to fall for them myself...

HEY VALENTINE!

Happy Valentine's Day or I guess Singles Awareness Day? Whatever, it's about celebrating love! How about that?

Don't let your Valentines Day be tragic. Let it be:
a)magical
b) a good memory
c) special
d) heartfelt
e) all of the above

Need tips for this great day? The Weekly Blogette has tips for you readers!
Pictures from Ellegirl in their "Date" make-up category. (Of course you don't need a date to make yourself look fabulous, you do that for yourself!)
DO: a smoky eye and a pink or nude lip
combined with a flawless complexion.

PRODUCTS
Eyeliner: Revlon, their eye products are long lasting and will not fade easily
Eyeshadow: Covergirl, the shades/colors are fantastic and will play up your eyes.
Mascara: Maybelline (only the best!), I have a friend who loves her lashes long and thick and I have heard nothing but good things about Maybelline's products
Lipgloss: Nivea, its called "A KISS OF SHINE", this stuff is great I tried it might self. It's not sticky and moisturizes your lips
My Valentine wish is to be able to buy a cute day dress or frock like this one.

LOVE LETTER
Naploeon Bonaparte was known for writing amazing letters to his beloved Josephine
here is one from 1795:
"I wake filled with thoughts of you. Your portrait and the intoxicating evening which we spent yesterday have left my senses in turmoil.

Sweet incomparable Josephine, what a strange effect you have on my heart!
Are you angry?
Do I see you looking sad? Are you worried? ...
My soul aches with sorrow, and there can be no rest for your lover; but is there still more in store for me when, yielding to the profound feelings which overwhelm me, I draw from your lips, from your heart a love which consumes me with fire? Ah! it was last night that I fully realized how false an image of you your portrait gives!
You are leaving at noon; I shall see you in three hours.
Until then, mio dolce amor, a thousand kisses; but give me none in return, for they set my blood on fire."

HOPE YOU ENJOYED READERS
until next week

Black & White

Just yesterday was my last chance to attend my school's "Black and White" dance. And you know what? I didn't go. I do not say this readers so that you will be sorry for me. As a matter of fact, it was by choice that I did not go. True, I am a senior, but I had gone to the dance last year. It was definitely one of the most memorable dances I had gone to, and I would not have exchanged that memory for anything, and I wanted to keep it that way. So that when I refer back to that dance I will always have a warm nostalgia when I think of it.

Now you must be thinking what did I do instead of the dance? Well, I ventured to the mall with a friend-on a very very rainy day! She and I took picture after picture (with her digital camera) of ourselves modeling in stores like Anthropologie and Macy's Furniture Store. Then, we decided to go about the mall speaking in English accents. And if anyone would want to ask why we were speaking like Brits I would just say "why not?"
